While the forum and support from IT is absolutely great thier online manual is not a walk in the park for newbies.

One question

Do you plan to do future updates to the book as new features and improvements are added to CMSB?

And if so will the updates be free to previous buyers?

I use Frontpage for editing. Sure, I could use something text-based, but it is usually much easier to just see where you want things to go.

What I do, is have two tabs open, one saved as the PHP file, and one with just the code in it, that way you can edit on one, then copy/paste into the other when you want to check things out online.

I also find it easier, as I have a simple template with the design on it, then just load that in and add the sections that I need for each specific section. It's how I did it on my current site, and am doign on one I'm working on for a publisher, and it means things look how I want them to look.

I have done quite a few sites with CMSB now and I absolutely love it.

I am doing a new website for a Real Estate agent who wants a standard website with regular pages (about us, contact etc) but also wants to be able to list and manage all of their property listings on the website.

I was going to use CMSB for this site then remembered you have a product for real estate websites. Am I right to think that if I use CMSB that I am getting more because I will be able to do the same as the Realtor product can do, but also customise the content for other pages on the site, or does the Realtor product have some more Real Estate specific features I'm not aware of that I may miss out on by using CMSB?

Also, I want to people to be able to search the listings like you can on most real estates by selecting combinations of things e.g. bedrooms, price etc. A search seems to come standard in the Realtor program - can CMSB create a similar search?

Any help and advice would be appreciated :)

Now that you have released Instant Realty Website based on CMSB would the above answers still hold true or would it be simpler to now use the IRW

As far as I am aware the instant reality version is simply CMS Builder with additional templates.

So perhaps if large changes are required anyway, stick with the parent product.

You can have wysiwyg boxes or text boxes, so the choice is yours.

Not sure about PayPal, but there may be another post of these forums relatign to that.

I have also seen a thread on 'featured listings' - so that should assist.

So in my view CMSB will be fine. Good lcuk :)

Thanks for your reply, I thought I read something similar in the forum somewhere in the past.

I guess I may be able to use some of the functionality of the IRW like searches etc to cut down dev. time

Will see what others have to say also.

Instant Realty Website would still need a lot of modifications to fit my requirements so it is not an out of the box solution for me.

Important[/#ff0000]: Members should only be making changes by filling in or editing simple pre-designed text fields as opposed to HTML WYSIWYG type editor fields.
