Hi all,

I purchased CMSB in order to provide an easy to use, reliable content management system to my clients.

I have a knowledge of PHP but must admit I was a little daunted and confused when first trying to get my head around how the system worked.

I have been testing - and marketing - the software by initially building - now three/four - sections of my site with CMSB:

http://www.itsnoprob.co.uk/Content_Management_System_FAQs.php

http://www.itsnoprob.co.uk/Web_Presence_in_Recession.php

http://www.itsnoprob.co.uk/Articles.php

as well as, effectively, banner rotation on my home page and a specific search section on the Content Management System part of my site.

What's also great is that the system enables the appropriate setting of Title and Description tags - really important for search engines.

As a result, I am a lot more confident in both using the system and in offering the product. The fact that CMSB sections can be seamlessly integrated within overall site design - that is protected - is particularly good.

I have also generated RSS feeds at http://www.itsnoprob.co.uk/rss.xml.php and at http://www.itsnoprob.co.uk/Articlesrss.xml.php

Hopefully, I have finally found a CMS that works and sells!!

P.S. I would only say that the Interactive Tools Documenentation is enough to perhaps deter many buyers - you do need some pretty reasonable skills in HTML but also specifically PHP to get the most out of the software. Unlike Interactivetools to make anything anything but easy and transparently obvious!!!

Cheers,

Nigel

Hi Ross,

Thanks again for your assistance - I have used Interactive tools for years and it's a combination of the quality of the products and of the support provided which continues to impress me.

I have added 'Autodiscovery' code to http://www.itsnoprob.co.uk/Content_Management_System_FAQs.php so that browsers identify the RSS feed on the page.

This has not affected Internet Explorer but in Firefox there has been a difference - it now automatically triggers the opportunity to bookmark the main Itsnoprob link but doesn't display the RSS feed....

I take your point, Ross, about removing <p> tags from the title - which is, you're right, a $question variable from CMSB set up using WYSIWYG. I'll try amending as you suggest and let you know the result!

Thanks,

Nigel

Apologies,

I have spent quite some time looking through the forum - and read the documention - but can't find the very basics of doing a successful section search...

I have set up a search form at http://www.itsnoprob.co.uk/Search.php which is intended to look at the 'answer' field in the faq table and find any entries that contain keyword_answer as entered to the search box.

The results page is at http://www.itsnoprob.co.uk/Search_Results.php but I get no results found even for a word such as 'web' which is included in faq records.

To be clearer, this page I have left with pretty much 'standard' viewer page PHP coding, so I guess there must be some changes that I need to make to this page's coding to enable the correct selection and presentation of search results?????

Again, I apologise for such a basic question but what am I doing wrong??!

I just need a bit of advice so I can get started properly with search.

Many thanks,

Nigel

I have a related question so thought I would post it here if that's OK? If not, please tell me and I will post separately.

I would like to produce a 'global' search facility that would sit on all web site pages but with the ability to exclude sections - effectively reproducing the functionality of Interactive's Search Engine software....

Any assistance gratefully received.

Many thanks,

Nigel
