Hi Peter,

Thanks for the post!

I've had a look at your site for you here and it looks like the issue is just related to the placeholders that are set on your templates.

I did tweak your /articleLists/globalIndex.html template and you can see that the styles are showing up fine now here: http://consumertravelletter.com/artman2/publish/

Beyond this, I did notice a couple of template includes that are still not working here (this is where you see the message "an error occurred while processing this directive"). From what I can tell the issue is related to not having the appropriate publishing rules to create the files that are being looked for.

Because the old templates work differently than the new ones, there are some additional publishing rules that need to be created. This is why the classic templates include the raw HTML template files, along with a data file called "db_publishrules.dat.cgi". If you backup the existing file with this name in /cgi-bin/artman2/data/ and move the one that came from classic.zip to the /data/ folder you should be able to re-publish all within Article Manager and see the appropriate data showing up.

I hope this helps Peter!
Hi there,

Thanks for the post!

By default Article Manager rolls over to a search results page on your second page of results. This means that once someone clicks "next" they'll be directed away from your index page and onto a page of search results.

With the way the software works there isn't a way to change this unless you knew how many pages deep you wanted this format to go. You couldn't really set up an infinite number of pages, though you could potentially set up a few pages to be published with static URLs.

Does something like this sound like it would work for you? If so, just let me know and I can outline how you can set this up. It'll likely just involve creating a couple of publishing rules and tweaking your templates a bit.

Let me know how this sounds! [:)]

Hi there,

From what you've mentioned it sounds like the issue is related to the buttons that are set up to display in the WYSIWYG editor. The file you're looking at lists all of the available fonts, though there's a separate JavaScript file that lists which buttons to actually display on your WYSIWYG toolbar as the editor is loaded.

You'll want to log onto your server and navigate to /artman2/javascript/ and open up "loadWysiwyg.js". In this file you're looking for this line of code:

wysiwyg.features=[    // buttons to display

It's quite likely you'll have a value in the section after this line that says "StyleAndFormatting" or "Styles". Just find this (or both) and replace it with "FontName". You may also want to add other basic style features if they were removed such as "FontSize", "Bold", "Italic", or "Underline". Just add these after "FontName" separated by commas. Once you save loadWysiwyg.js back to your server you should no longer see the styles and should see just regular font names in the dropdown.

You'll want to note that I haven't tested the specific WYSIWYG with tweaks and patches that you're using but a change like this shouldn't cause any issues for you and just be sure to back up loadWysiwyg.js before you get started.

Let me know how this works out for you! One thing I'm curious about is how you're outputting these images in Article Manager. Are these all part of one upload field that are being output on the template with a templatecell? If so, you should be able to use this tag for the id:

$file._order$

This placeholder will just list the order number for each image in that upload field. This will ensure you'll always have a unique number for each image uploaded for that field and this value is adjusted appropriately as you add/modify and remove images.

I hope this helps!
Elisabeth,

Thanks for posting!

Looking over what you've mentioned here and the fact you have just one category, I'm curious as to what you were hoping to setup. Based on Ross' post and the details you were looking for, could you provide me with a bit more information as to how you'd like this to work on your site?

Thanks Elisabeth!
Hi Leo,

Thanks for the post!

From what you've outlined and linked to it seems you'd like the content of the one article you have in the "Welcome" category to show up on the index page for this category.

If this is the case, I'd just suggest having a look at the template file you're using for this category. It seems like you'll just want to find a spot on this page to output $article.content$ so you'll actually be able to view the full details of this article.

If you'd like to send over some FTP details (https://www.interactivetools.com/support/email_support.cgi) I should be able to have a look at this template itself to see what the issue may be.

I hope this helps!
Amber,

We should be able to have a look at this for you though it'll be much easier to do if you can send us your FTP details and login information for Article Manager:

https://www.interactivetools.com/support/email_support.cgi

This way we can have a closer look at your specific template files and publishing rules to see what the issue is.

I look forward to your email!
Re: [felixr] About how to find some Placeholders

Hi Felix,

Thanks for the post!

You'll want to put this line somewhere in the code that is actually displayed on the site (outside of the <head> portion, somehwere in the <body> portion). This can be in any of your template files, and you'll want to note that where you put it may result in different results. For example, if you put this code within the templatecell for Article Row in your categoryIndex.html file, the placeholder list will be output for each article you have and will list some article-specific placeholders.

Once the code is in this page, you'll republish the Publishing Rule that uses that template. From there if you look at one of the published pages you should see a new table showing up on the page that lists all of the placeholders available on that page.

I hope this helps Felix!
