Folder file quantity issue

After two years of having no problems uploading as many images to a directory GoDaddy is telling us we cannot exceed 1024 files/folders per directory.

Problem is we have 12,000 images in the main uploads directory and the same in thumbs1 and thumbs2 directories(different image sizes).

1.) Has anyone ever heard of a host restricting this?

2.) Is there a way I can split these directories up and maintain proper linking? Move images and run a sql query?

Any help would be appreciated!

Overwrite images simple question

I want to add a watermark to all the images we put through our CMS Builder. From now forward we will do it before each upload.

My question is can I download the upload directory, run all the images through Irfanview to add the watermark and then rewrite the files and will CMS builder reflect the changes? I know i can recreate thumbnails after through CMS Builder.

Before I spend all the time downloading the uploads directory and making my company network crawl I thought I would ask.

solution. The htaccess file got overwritten with a godaddy update. The htaccess did not have the proper ad handlers.

for reference line 325 in init.php is

Gotcha. That would be a ? for the devs. Only thing to semi get around it would be to google "map FTP network drive". Bunch of articles on how to do that.

Is he referencing this just to have access to the images or is he going to be pulling them into CMS Builder?

If it's just to have access to them, I would setup a FTP with that directory so he can login to it.

If its for CMS to import, you can map a network drive if your hosting the server... if you using a 3rd party hosting like godaddy then the FTP is pretty much how your going to have access to them.

Unless I am not understanding you right :) Which happens.

I got my result to show perfectly but how do I pull in the image in the $upload table that ties to the random record I am pulling in my main table ($newvehicles) ???

I have a search results page that is pulling in variable family via query string.
ie. ?family=Cruiser

I am making a page that I want to be able to show results from multiple family types.
ie. Cruiser, Dirtbike, Sportbike etc (OR Statements)

Below is the code I have been working with. What am I missing?

WYSIWYG problem

I am having a problem where we enter all the information in the editor and hit save and everything works perfect.

But if I go back into the same record, everything is there except the text I entered in the wysiwyg (description field).

But if I make a change and hit save it deletes the text stored in that field in the database.

We have multiple people adding product and editing fields on a daily basis and cannot have this problem! Help please :)

So i add all the hidden fields based on the previous query and the action should link to the same page.

Next question is what option value do I use to utilize the CMS viewer to : ORDER BY 'X variable' Asc/Desc ?

Looked through the forum for a couple days for a similar question but nothing seemed like mine so posting.

I have a search page that works great. On the results page I would like to have a drop down that has options like "Price : High to Low", "Engine Size : Low to High" etc etc...

How can i sort the results on the Results page even further without losing their initial search criteria.

I ran a phpAdmin update query changing all the 'Call on Price' to '000'. Ran my form query and it still doesn't display the correct results.. ie. search price 0 to 10,000 and it returns bikes over 10,000.

I created a barebones version of my search at :

Attached is the code. Maybe I have a typo or something obvious to you(not me :) ). (i have tried the price_min/max and miles_min/max fields with commas and without)

some examples of how the records are laid out in my price field are ....

I don't know how the _min and _max handle commas. I can wipe them if needed.

Call on Price would ideally be included in all search results.

I am dynamically posting a dropdown box with all the Years people can choose from based on their vehicle (motorcycle inventory site).

I get it to post but is there a way I can choose just distinct records in cms builder? like the query of

SELECT DISTINCT YEAR
FROM `table_name`
ORDER BY YEAR ASC

Also there is no way to search based on price correctly if the field is in mediumtext format.. without changing it to int? Some price fields are "Call for Price"

Thanks for your response and I appreciate it. Figured out one error i was having was that there is a case sensitive issue between Field Label and Field Name. That was the big issue that the form wasn't connecting properly to the listings page.

Maybe I am oblivious to the obvious but I have a table with all the motorcycles my company sells. I got the listings page working, and the detail of the listings page done. I just want a page were people can put in their criteria and search that table for and show a listings page based on what they choose.

Appreciate the help and you were dead on! Exactly what I wanted. Didn't even notice the advanced thumbnail options available. Need to check my eyesight.

And i did need the thumbnail clickable. Working on getting it working with lightbox now which shouldn't be too hard.

Image thumbnails questions

On my details page I want one image to be thumbnailed a little larger then the rest and in a different location. Little unsure how to do this due to the images already being thumbnailed to a set size.

Also what is the code to link to the original images of the thumbnailed version?

Moving from AM to CMS Builder

I know all the data in Auto Manager was stored in listing.dat.cgi and i know CMS Builder uses MySQL. Do you have a process of extracting all the data from the cgi and importing it in MySQL?
