I think my question should be, how to I pass the record number to the next page?

The drop down menu is created from the category table, when I click on one of the menu items then record number associated with this item needs to be used to open the relevant record number to display the category in the title tag.

Sorry if that's not very clear, I'm not sure how else to explain it.

Can you go to the site I mentioned in the early post.
Go to the "Rentals" option on the menu then click on "clamshells" from the drop down menu. When the new page opens I want the word "clamshells" to appear in the title tag. Likewise if I click on "Breakers" I want that to appear in the title tag.

I hope this is a bit clearer.

I have completed a website using CMS builder with a drop down menu system that uses categories for the menu items. I am now working on the SEO and would like the title tag to match the category.

Hi,

I have created a 'list' page where the number of records is making the page a bit long. I am trying to create an index page where I can select a number of records by category. So I have created a category 'section' and created an index page from this that lists the categories. I have also added a category field (field type: list) in my data.

The problem is how do I make this work. When I click on a category on my index page I want it to filter the records and only show the records that are in the category selected.

Yes I am happy changing some php, html or css.

After more testing its not just

that causes a problem
If you add underline this makes a real mess the same as if you add an image.
The

tag just stops things working. Yet Bold and italics work OK.
So most html tags seem to cause a problem.
The only html tags that I have teated that work OK are

When I replace the text it does not work onmouseover="onover('')"

Hi,

I am creating a website where I have 6 images and when I mouse over each image it changes the text on the page.
I have this working using a small script but when I replace the 6 pieces of text with the code to get the data from CMS Builder nothing works. No sure if I can use php in javascript. perhaps this is the problem.

I get an Undefined index error when I try and access any list page other than the first record.

This is my setup.

Text and images from the home page are used in the header on every page.
A drop down menu is used on every page getting data from 6 list pages

When I open the first page (i.e. section.php?page-1) everything works OK

When I open any other page ((i.e. section.php?anotherpage-2) I am unable to read the data from the home page and get an Undefined index in my header.

Hope this makes sense. Any ideas?

Hi Ross,

I have achieved the results I wanted by by creating 5 multi sections and then using the list page code from each to create a menu system. This means my client can create as many single pages as they want under one of 5 categories.

By doing things this way will I have any performance issues as when each page loads the database will be accesses 6 times. Once for the data on the page and once for each of the 5 list pages.

Hi Roj,

You probably just need to change it so it links to your viewer file instead of categoryList.php. Usually you can do this under: Admin > Section Editors > Your Section > Viewer Urls.

Usually for category sections you just need one file.

I am a bit confused by the new category menu section editor. Can I use this to create a menu bar on my website?
Can I create a 2 tier drop down menu system? If so how do I link the sub categories to the main categories and the pages to the sub categories?

Can I create something in Admin so a Manager account can create new single pages which will also appear on the menu system?

Hi All,

I am just taking CMS builder for a test drive and all looks good so far.

Just one thing, I am have a bit of a problem that I am sure some one can help me with.

I am creating a multi product page and I would like to put a thumbnail on the list page and a full size image on the product page but I can't seem to get my head around how to do this.
