I followed the instructions, created a file named .htaccess and uploaded it. Named the page with .htm instead of php and it didn't work. Called GoDaddy support before doing this to confirm placement of .htaccess code. Page did not display the CMS Builder php functions and also displayed the php code that is at the top of the page. I'm obviously missing something and don't know how to resolve this situation.

Thanks, I've read the reference and will contact the hosting company. I'm assuming that I leave all CMS Builder generated PHP code on the page as is.

I know that a change can be made at the server so that pages appear as htm and not php. Not sure what to request and if all hosting services can make this update. Client hosts with GoDaddy and the hosting service I usually use. Some pages on the site will be php others htm (without CMS Builder coding) and I would like a link currently coded as htm to go to the corresponding php page. Is this possible? I don't understand my options and how pages coded as php work. Can I just save the page as an htm page with the php code?

The Expression Web message I get is:
"This element is not allowed to be self closing in the current schema. Remove the closing slash."

But page displays in browsers just fine without removing the closing slash and retaining the XHTML code convention. Think this may just be an issue with Expression Web and that I can safely ignore.

I need clarification on setting up the doctype. I have a text page with CMS Builder installed for the copy. Am getting error messages from Expression Web indicating that XHTML coding is not allowed (closing tags) with PHP. I'm adding CMS Builder to an existing website. Would appreciate it if someone would look at the source of the test page and let me know if I can use XHTML with PHP or if I need to change the basic code to HTML or if I've inserted the CMS code incorrectly. http://mysacredmovement.com/test_index2.php

Haven't worked with CMS Builder for some time. Attempting to set up test page incorporating CMS in existing site. Getting this message: Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/content/18/8537518/html/test_index2.php:3) in /home/content/18/8537518/html/test_index2.php on line 3

Obviously I've inserted the generated code above the incorrectly but can't correct it.

Figured it out and have the info above head correct. But error messages indicate that I need to remove closing / from a number of commands.

Just to clarify. Are you saying that the view website link can only go to one page on the entire site no matter where it is invoked? What then is the purpose of the setting in the viewer urls field in the section editor. I don't understand "These urls are used when creating links to viewers for this section. Update the urls and filenames to match the viewers you create." It may be the terminology but I don't understand the function. Help!

When I add the generated php header code before the doc type statement does this mean that I must save the page as PHP? Is it possible to save the page as HTM and still have it execute correctly. I know, dumb question, but I have no PHP experience and would like to understand options. Have been saving as PHP.

I made the change as suggested and now go to the home page of the website with a valid url (no #set). Can I set the viewer url for each section to go directly to that page or is the only option the website home page? I am not clear if that option is even available and if so how to indicate specific page so that "View Website" link will go to the page being edited. I've attempted a variety of versions of the page url in the set details section of the section editor for the page but always default to the home page of the site.

I prefer the "/" rather than #set as a default. But think the issue is my confusion regarding how these pieces work together.

Is it possible to view the page represented in the section editor? When I click on view website for the page I have updated I get "#setThisInAdminMenu" after the domain name. I've tried a variety of options in the detail page URL field but cannot view the page without going to the site home page. I may not understand the function of that field but thought I could view the page I was updating.

I set up an articles page so that pdfs could be uploaded. In FireFox the pdf opens in a new tab as intended when the link is clicked. In IE a new window is not opened and pdf replaces the website page. How do I code in CMS Builder to make new tab/window a consistent result. Client requests new window. This is a multi page.

Yes, I was using a WYSIWYG field. I changed it to textbox and removed the

tags that carried over and it works fine now. In this case a textbox will work. I imagine I will need the WYSIWYG multi option for other sites and don't understand how to make that work correctly but will address it at another time. Thanks for your help.

The first instance of the item on the page inserts additional spacing, equivalent of a br. The others do not. The spacing is between a record desciption field and the uploaded link to a pdf. How do I correct? Do you need to see page to understand my question?

Is it possible to have non multi list fields on the same page as multi items? I want to have an updatable field in a side column but it doesn't change with each instance. I've created a page with listings for uploadable pdfs but want constant fields as well. Please point me to the doc I need. Do I need to set up a system field? Thanks. Making progress!

This is a brand new installation (1/29/09) for a client site that Interactive Tools did for me. I don't think I should have to upgrade. Install was done by Ross who was very helpful.

I'm attempting to set up a list page where I will have a description and then link to an uploaded pdf file. When I attempt to upload I get this message.

Temp Upload dir '' does't exist! Ask server admin to check 'upload_tmp_dir' setting in php.ini.

First time to set up this type of page and I am confused.
