Hi Jason,

Thanks for help on this! I tried the changes as per below and ran into two issues.

1. On the What's New page, we actually don't want to list the individual products. We just want to list the brands that correspond to them as links (similar to how they appear on the Cheeses/View All Products page (but not list the individual products below). Then clicking on the links will take you to the existing Brand page.

The logic for this page is working correctly though. You'll see that we've tagged 2 products are 'featured' and they are displaying.

2. The other brand pages now are not listing any of the products.

We've uploaded these changes on our test site: http://test.finica.com

Let me know if you need me to attach any files. Any input is very much appreciated.

Thanks,
Claudia

Hi Jason,

Sure thing. I'm attaching a copy a few page types for your reference. The nav menu on the left is hardcoded, you'll be able to see the code in any of the attached php files (is this what you're referring to by menu list, or are you referring to the links regenerated on the What's New page? - the template used there is brandsDetail.php).

We've combined multiple list pages into one to create the category pages (product_categoriesDetail.php). These list the brands with the individual product links for each.

Please let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks,
Claudia

Hi,

We manage a gourmet food website where the products are organized by Product Categories, Brands and Products, in that hierarchical order. www.finica.com.

The site has a What's New section where we display new/featured products. However these are duplicate items. Because we cannot assign more than 1 brand to an item, these items were assigned the brand "What's New". I know that to do this correctly we should set the products up using a 'featured' checkbox in the product page, but I'm not entirely clear on how to do this (even after having read some posts on the matter). Our PHP knowledge is limited.

How do we set this up to correctly display the products without having to duplicate them?

One thing to note - on the What's New section, we only want to list the brands that include a featured product, we do not want to list the products. So we would have to check the product's featured value, but display its corresponding brand. Then when the brand name is clicked, this will load the existing brand page of the site. We would like to highlight that a product is 'new' by adding the text "New" after the product name, triggered by a check of the 'featured' field value.

Any help that you could lend on this is very much appreciated!

Thank you,
Claudia

We are experiencing an issue on our client's website that uses AM v 1.41 where new articles are disappearing after a day or so of having been added.

We have AM installed on both the live site and a test directory (for devel purposes). A few month's ago the AM on the test directory became inaccessible (browser would just sit idle when we tried loading the exec.cgi), so our hosting company copied the entire AM folder from the live site to the test directory. This all seemed to work fine after adjusting the publish and uploads paths accordingly under Setup Options. However we later noticed that a good deal of the records from the live site were no longer available (anything newer than 2006 was not visible on the live site), but all records were available on the test directory. I assumed the hosting company had moved the data incorrectly leaving holes.

The hosting company was not familiar with AM, so they suggested they copy all the files from the test directory back to the live. This worked and brought all records back. However when we added new records, we noticed that a day or so later, these records had disappeared from AM. But if we tried to enter those records again the system gave an error that those particular filenames were in use. This told me that the data existed somewhere but was not accessible to the system.

Is there some setting that got copied over incorrectly in going back and forth from the live to the test directories that would cause this problem? Or any ideas on why this is happening? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

thanks,

Claudia

Hi CMS team,

What is the best way to set up my page structure in CMSB for a site that is 3 levels deep? And then how do I set up the category menu in order to create a nav menu?

Our site will consist of:

Level 1 - Product Category sections - (ie, Cheeses)
- Level 2 - Brand sections (ie, Kraft)
- Level 3 - Individual product pages

We would like the Product Category sections to list all the brands and their related product links. The Brand sections would list the individual product links, and we'd also like to include (at the top of the page) a brand image and brand description, managed by CMSB.

I created multi-record section editors for each of the product categories: Cheeses, Sauces, Olis & Vinegars. These editors includes the fields: title, content, brand image and category (list). I then created records for each of the brands under the respective categories.

I also created multi-record section editors for each of the brands. These editors include the fields: title, content, category (list), image (upload).

I created a category menu group with the correct site hierarchy, and specified these categories within each of the records created for the brands above.

I've searched through numerous posts on how to bring this all together but haven't found a simple answer. Could you please either point me to the correct post or lend some insight into how to correctly set up the structure and link the pages together? I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you in advance!
Claudia
