just a small problem i cant seem to figure out the code i need to view newsDetail.php

i know its something to do with this code _link : <a href="<?php echo $record['_link']?>"><?php echo $record['_link']?></a><br/>

this brings up xxxxxxxx.com/news/newsDetail.php%20?xxxxx-5

And it returns a HTTP 404 Not Found. But if you remove the %20 in /newsDetail.php and make it xxxxxxxx.com/news/newsDetail.php?xxxxx-5 the page loads to newsDetail.pph. So what im trying to ask is does anyone know how to remove the %20 from the code_link? Thanks
