          <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi Dave,</p>
<p>Thanks for the additional info - I'm not getting anywhere with the hosting company, here's a selection of their replies:</p>
<blockquote>
<p>We made standard optimization for mysql configurations within your account. We checked and monitored the domain till time and it is loading fine with us now.</p>
</blockquote>
<p>and</p>
<blockquote>
<p>You are under "share hosting plan" and other customers use the same server. We have this issue only with your website - "blocked because of many connection errors" . Unfortunately we can not "increase max_connect_errors to 1000000 or setup a cron job to run "FLUSH HOSTS"" as it is very un-secure, and it take effect with our other customers. I've investigated it once again, I added more permission to your database user. Hopefully it will help at this stage.</p>
</blockquote>
<p>The problem recurs daily now. Is there any chance that the code is the problem?</p>
<p>Thanks,</p>

          <description><![CDATA[<p>Thanks for this guys, but it still seems to be beyond the abilities of the hosting team to raise the connections as required.</p>
<p>What does the number of connections depend on, is it determined by the code or the number of visitors to the site? And where are the errors likely to be generated (I'm assuming time outs from the server)?</p>
<p>The host support have asked me how many connections I expect to the server - sound like a "How long is a piece of string" question to me...</p>

          <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi,</p>
<p>On a school's website running CMSB, every couple of weeks the website goes down with the following error message:</p>
<p><code>We were unable to connect to the database, possibly because:<br /><br /> Your database settings are incorrect (check in /data/settings.dat.php)<br /> Your database server is down or overloaded (check with your host)<br /><br /><br /> The database error given was:<br /> Host '&lt;Control Panel Name&gt;' is blocked because of many connection errors;<br /> unblock with 'mysqladmin flush-hosts'</code></p>
<p>Obviously the hosting company says that it's the code that is the issue rather than their servers. Naturally I need to be sure this is not the case. What should I be looking for in the way of error logs? Any other pointers you can give?</p>
<p>The site was stable for a long period before this started.</p>
<p>Thanks,</p>

          <link>https://interactivetools.com/forum/forum-posts.php?postNum=2231318#post2231318</link>
          <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi,</p>
<p>I'm getting the following error message on a new installation of CMSB when I try to change a section record:</p>
<blockquote>
<p><span>Warning: is_dir(): open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/) is not within the allowed path(s): (/usr/share/pear/:/usr/share/php/:/usr/local/pem/vhosts/115545/) in /usr/local/pem/vhosts/115545/we</span>bspace/httpdocs/ennisoft-webdev.com/cmsAdmin/lib/common.php on line 175</p>
</blockquote>
<p>It happens when I add an upload field into a section editor - I remove the upload, the message stops appearing.</p>
<p>I also get a message telling me that the uploads folder does not exist - I have checked the paths in Server Settings, and they seem right to me.</p>
<p>I contacted my hosting company and they gave me the following response:</p>
<blockquote>
<p>Open_basedir is no longer applicable since the PHP 5.3.3 upgrade that was made to the control panel awhile back. <br />You would need to look in to the software you are using for alternatives to open_basedir where applicable, or migrate to cloud as they will require PHP 5.2</p>
</blockquote>
<p>I see there are similar posts, but no solutions, they all seem to go to second level support. Any ideas?</p>
<p>Thanks,</p>

          <link>https://interactivetools.com/forum/forum-posts.php?postNum=2227926#post2227926</link>
          <description><![CDATA[Hi,<br /><br />I know this has been pretty well covered in various forum threads, but I have come up against a couple of issues that I can't see solutions to!<br /><br />I have created a set of article fields which are only used in a single, password protected category. I want to be able to filter the returned records by using the keyword and search fields arrangement. So far so good, this all works in a simple fashion.<br /><br />I want to make it more complex, however, by either:<br /><br />1. using list boxes to select values/keywords and matching them against specific fields, much like the article date start and end range found in the advanced search template.<br /><br />2. allowing multiple word searches where all keywords must be present, but can be in any of the search fields. Currently the search only accepts multiple words where the combination is found in the same search field. <br /><br />The first would be preferable (and, I'm guessing, more achievable!).<br /><br />My search code looks like this:<br /><br /><code>&lt;form action="<a href="http://www.clareed.ie/cgi-bin/content/search.cgi" rel="nofollow">http://www.clareed.ie/cgi-bin/content/search.cgi</a>" method="post"&gt;<br /><br />      &lt;input type="hidden" name="action" value="search"/&gt;<br />      &lt;input type="hidden" name="action" value="search"/&gt;<br />      &lt;input type="hidden" name="sortBy" value="st_surname, st_firstname"&gt;<br />      &lt;input type="hidden" name="keywordSearchFields" value="st_sector, st_region, st_surname, st_firstname, st_subjects"&gt;<br />      &lt;input type="hidden" name="categoryNum" value="73"&gt;<br />      &lt;input type="hidden" name="perpage" value="100"&gt;<br />      &lt;input type="hidden" name="template" value="articleLists/st_Index.html"&gt;<br /><br /> 	Keyword&lt;input type="text" name="keyword" value="" size="25"/&gt;<br /><br />        &lt;input type="submit" name="" value="Search &amp;gt;&amp;gt;" class="button"/&gt;<br /><br />&lt;/form&gt;</code><br /><br />Thanks,<br /><br />Ross<br />]]></description>
