I am working on a site for a teacher providing lessons online that can be downloaded. On one of the pages, we have book "covers" and an associated PDF file for download. I created a multi-record section editor with an upload field for the photo/image and an upload field for the PDF.

My question/problem. On the listing page, I want to display the image with the correct link to the PDF. There may be an actual detail page in the future, but right now I just want to show the image with a link that brings up the PDF.

Since these are upload fields, I'm struggling with the logic of getting those two sets of information together.

Ideas and suggestions are welcome!

Here's the page on the website: http://resursescolare.com/activity-books-new.php

(yes, it has errors ... I'm not finished with it yet)

How nice working on a Saturday, UNTIL, something went wrong. What that is right now I've not a clue.

Been changing menu items and information in CMS Builder. Then, while I was previewing changes, for some reason, Firefox browser can't display any of the website pages correctly. Don't know exactly which change turned the corner, but SOMETHING happened.

Explorer, Edge, and Chrome are fine, but Firefox appears as if it's in some kind of a loop. It just keeps displaying over and over in the status bar: waiting for (my server). Never stops.

Has anyone else run into this problem and/or have a solution? The first page works great, but it's the ONLY one that doesn't use CMS Builder (yet), so, logically, I think, there's something amiss in my database?

{ title: 'Bullets', selector: 'ul', classes: 'list-style dots' },

It doesn't work unless I select the bullet items and use the editor to create a list, and then select "Bullets" from the additional style menu, I'm assuming because there isn't a "
" until I actually create a list.

Is there a more elegant solution for that situation?

I am going to be migrating a site from Drupal to CMS Builder. Here's the link to the existing site: https://siggins.com/

My concern with the URLs comes from the fact that this site has been published for some time, and we have been providing SEO and Website marketing for this company, including AdWords, and the existing URL for many of the pages has been established for quite some time.

So, I really don't want to create all NEW URL addresses for the web pages; instead, I would like to utilize the same path/URL in CMS Builder.

Normally I would either name all html files the same thing in the website, or in the case of PHP, I create a matching html file from the previous site and redirect it to the new URL with a .php extension.

But, the URL names on the Drupal site don't have an extension. For instance, if you look at one of the links, Services, the URL is https://siggins.com/services. Then, to branch to one of the services the URL is: https://siggins.com/services/design-build.

I have a new installation of CMS Builder and I'm getting ready to create all of the section editors. Does anyone have a solution of how I can either keep the same URL and/or plan to forward the new URLs in some fashion? I do have the Permalinks module installed. If there is something I should be doing to make this work then I need to know while I'm getting everything set up.

Thanks!

I gave it a try and I'm not getting what I'm wanting. I am still having headaches with the Google Ad string that's being passed to the URL from the advertising company my customer hired. You helped me with that last month. I was thinking if something failed, instead of getting "record not found" then at least the viewer could view the webpage. Maybe even the ad may still convert; I don't know.

I have the following:

// load viewer library
$libraryPath = 'cmsAdmin/lib/viewer_functions.php';
$dirsToCheck = array('/var/www/html/rossinimanagement.com/','','../','../../','../../../');
foreach ($dirsToCheck as $dir) { if (@include_once("$dir$libraryPath")) { break; }}
if (!function_exists('getRecords')) { die("Couldn't load viewer library, check filepath in sourcecode."); }

// load records
list($awardsRecords, $awardsMetaData) = getRecords(array(
'tableName' => 'awards',
'where' => whereRecordNumberInUrl(1),
'limit' => '1',
));
$awardsRecord = @$awardsRecords[0]; // get first record

// show error message if no matching record is found
if (!$first_pageRecord) { header('Location: http://kuecker.com/awards-test.php'); exit; }

?>

I have a test file out there with the ad info tacked onto the URL where you can see the error message I received: http://kuecker.com/awards-test.php/?keyword=%2Bkuecker%20%2Blogistics&gclid=CIL55sDS9NMCFdC4wAodApULLQ

Am I just not able to "send" it to the same URL? Circular reasoning, I know, but, just looking for some options.

Thank you.

The site has been published, and everything is OK EXCEPT for the photo galleries on the site. These are from an upload field. I'm getting a /kuecker.com in front of the image name, i.e. instead of /cmsAdmin/uploads/IMG_1662.jpg, it is creating the path like this: /kuecker.com/cmsAdmin/uploads/IMG_1662.jpg.

I've looked at the file names, and I don't understand how the /kuecker.com is getting added onto the path. I've checked the uploaded images, and all I see is the file name of the image; there's nothing else I can change. I don't know what I need to change to remove that prefix from the path name. It isn't accessible as an option in the upload field. Can't change it when you upload the file. I've tried different settings in General Setup, but, I still get /kuecker.com in front of images in the upload field.

I have been working on migrating an existing project with CMS Builder to a new server, and I have been having issues with images, etc., that are uploaded with the wysiswyg editor.

I have decided to use full path URL for some of the links, etc. So, question, if I enter the full path URL to images and links, i.e., http://www.fulpath.html, does CMS Builder add any prefix to that?

Thank you.

Limit the number of records displayed?

I am having an issue on a new responsive website where data I have placed inside is popping out on an iPhone and displaying all over the page. It's a multi-record section for displaying news. It works on laptops, tablets, and Android. It's just the iPhone, as far as I can tell, where the news titles are popping out all over the screen.

Here is the link to the site (test): http://rossini.us/kuecker.com/. The problem is with the News inset about 1/2 of the way down the page. Here is the code around the iframe:

Company News

The iframe is displaying a file (company_news_inset.php ... attached to this post) with the following code for the news:

<?php foreach ($newsRecords as $record): ?>
<a href="<?php echo $record['_link'] ?>" target="_blank">
<?php echo $record['title'] ?>

<?php endforeach ?>

<?php if (!$newsRecords): ?>
No records were found!

<?php endif ?>

I have attached an image of the display problem. If anyone knows what is the problem, I would certainly appreciate it. Also, I believe if I just limit the number of records that displays to something like the first 5, that may not be the most elegant solution, but, it would at least solve this problem for the time being.

Can someone show me how to rework the code where I call the titles so that only 5 records display?

Thank you.

I'm wondering if anyone here has any suggestions for dealing with an address that is in the wrong place on Google Maps. I have a customer with a website and when we enter the address into Google Maps the location is put in another shopping center completely on the other side of a major highway. If anyone uses the location to find directions they are shown driving directions that puts them in the wrong place. I have submitted a request to have it changed, but, no luck at all at this point.

Thanks.

Section Editor Default Values

If I set up a section editor, and for the field values enter a default value, is there a way to force any new and/pr existing entry to use the default value? Or, could I enforce the default value unless a different value is entered? So, for instance, I set the address to a default in the section editor. Then, if there are multiple entries, and the fields are left blank, I would like to use the default. However, if the field has a value entered (i.e. something different) in one of the entries, then show that instead of the default?

I'm trying to find a way to save a bunch of typing if a value is going to be the same most of the time, but in some cases will be different?

Thanks.
