Menu query for AM 2

I am running AM 2 on a client's site and it is working well. However, recently the client wanted some new categories adding to the content. That was no problem but they then wanted a single category and all its sub categories to appear on their own as a sub menu on a separate page.

We are using AM2 to run a press office which has several categories. The cliemnt is now setting up translations of some of the releases.

The effect we wnat is when th euser clicks on "Translated News" from the Press tab on the menu all the menu they then see is Translated News and the four languages sub categories.

I am assuming this can be achieved using the publishing rules but can you confirm that is correct?

The other "nice" addition would then be to exclude the translated news category from the main press office menu. Is that possible?

RESOLVED - AM2 issues after 1&1 server upgrade

I suspect this may have been caused by my client "tweaking". Now fixed.

1&1 has upgraded my server to run Apache 2 from Apache 1.

This has brought up some errors on the press release section on one of my client's sites:

One of the errors is

[TemplateIf Error: Can't find operator in templateIf expression!]

The menu seems to have issues, as does the page when you click through to the full story and any added images now appear twice.[/url]

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

If it is a big problem I am happy to open a paid support ticket.

Thanks for your input. I had already been on the case with the hosts, I was just wondering if CMS Builder was reliant on the same modules.

upgrade from AM2 issue

I have a client site which has run happily for some years using AM2 to serve news to the site.

All was well until about 4 weeks ago when it stopped accepting images and returned an error:

Error: Couldn't find module/function: GD::Image::newFromJpeg

Am happy to upgrade the installation to CMS builder, but just concerned that the same error might occur. Any thoughts on the topic most welcome.

FIXED Menu & Search column not showing

Hi,
On a site I have maintained for some time the menu and search column has simply disappeared leaving a php error message.

The site is hosted by Network Solutions. Has anyone come across this or have any thoughts on a solution?

Although this had been working for sometime [years] the globalindex was calling the menu via a URL. When this ceased to work I am not sure, but it was recently.

I looked at the categoryIndex where the menu did show and it seemed to be calling the include via a path.

Replaced URL for path and bingo.

I had already tried that, but your reply made me go and look at the problem again and I think I have identified the issue:

The include code I am using on the categoryIndex.html file is:
http://www.xxxxxx.com/artman2/publish//include_categoryBreadcrumb.php'; ?>

However, it is actually getting the to be read. I need to be able to call the folder on the fly and I'm not sure how to do that.

Yep I have had a similar problem with the breadcrumbs. I have everything else working fine.

Hi Kimberly,

If you go to the control panel then Admin > Regional Settings you can adjust the time there.

Basically it is a questions of setting the hours to "minus 4" which gives you Eastern Time.

Slight glitch in change to .php

I have had to change the site AM is installed on to a php site. As part of the change over I am calling front page stories onto the front page using a php include statement.

It seems to be going well. I can get the stories on the front page. I can click through to the full story...BUT (isn't there always a but) on the click through page I loose the menu in the right hand column compare:

This has to be simple but for the life of me I can't spot what I need to amend/alter. Anyone got a suggestion?

Network Solutions is about to shift all its servers to run php5. Now as I understand it this really shouldn't affect AM2. However, Network solutions has offered up a test server and I have tested the client's site

As you can see it all appears to work well except for the category menu missing in the right hand column and the breadcrumbs. My guess is is that somewhere in the code are hard coded links with fully qualified URLs like http://www.netsol.com/directory1/file.htm instead of relative URLs like /directory/file.htm.

Does anyone have any ideas about this?

Any contributions much appreciated.
