I'm sure this must have been covered at some point in the forum, but I can't find anything, so here goes:

For a multi-record editor, is there a way of converting this kind of url:
exampleWebsite/newsDetail.php?How-to-prepare-your-office

to this kind:
exampleWebsite/How-to-prepare-your-office/

like you have in, say, Wordpress?

Hi. I've been trying to work this out to no avail.

I have a site which sell books. On one page has all the current books, linked to a detail page, which gives more detail on that book. Fine so far.

At the bottom of that detail page, I want a list of all of the other books available, as per a combo page.

However rather than the list being text, I want them to be pics (possibly thumbnail, possibly not), which can be clicked on to go through to that product.

Is this possible using a combo page? The only fields I appear to be able to use are text fields.

Any help greatly appreciated!

Hi

In a combo list viewer I'm trying to create a list which links directly to the upload for each record rather than to the detail page for each. See http://bathresidents.org.uk/minutesTest.php

Each upload is a pdf, so I just need the user to be able to click one of the archived links at the bottom and load that pdf rather than have to click through to another page in order to download it.

Is this possible? The only field I could specify for the list in the code generator was 'title', so ideally I'd like to be able to specify 'upload' instead.

Thanks

Hi. I have an issue with single section editors in a new installation of CMSB. I've never had this issue before, so it's confusing.

When I enter data and click save, the data definitely saves the first time (I get the 'record saved' dialog) but all the fields in the editor show as blank.

Also, only the first set of data saved shows up - if I change the data in the fields, the MySQL Table count goes up by one increment, but the live content doesn't change.

Any idea what's going on? It's an identical install to what I've used before.

The dump from the Server info section is below, and I'm using Chrome v.47 (though it does the same in Firefox and in Safari)

Hi Carlos

I created two flag buttons, an English and German, which had href links applied of ?lan=eng and ?lan=de respectively. This has the effect of adding a query to the URL, which is then picked up by the code. Now if you click on the English flag, you set the cookie to eng, likewise for German.

I've been trying to create a simple language switcher (Eng & Ger). I've created duplicate fields for each piece of content, ending in _en or _de Then created links for each ending in ?lan=eng and ?lan=de

A test version can be seen at:

http://www.premiergolfacademy.com/aboutTest.php

Everything works up to a point, but when you click the links, which sets a cookie, you only get the correct language when you click again, or refresh. The PHP which select the correct content from the cookie setting is:

<?php if(@$_COOKIE['langCookie'] == "de"): ?>
<?php echo htmlencode($aboutRecord['title_de']) ?>
<?php else: ?>
<?php echo htmlencode($aboutRecord['title_en']) ?>
<?php endif ?>

and the PHP which sets the cookie is:

<?php

function setLanguage ()
{
if(isset($_GET['lan']))
{
if($_GET['lan'] == 'de')
{
setcookie('langCookie','de',time()+60*60*24*365);
}
else
{
setcookie('langCookie','en',time()+60*60*24*365);
}
}
else
{
setcookie('langCookie','en',time()+60*60*24*365);
}
}

function checkLangCookie ()
{
if(isset($_COOKIE['langCookie']))
{
if($_COOKIE['langCookie'] == 'de')
{
setcookie('langCookie','de',time()+60*60*24*365);
}
else
{
setcookie('langCookie','en',time()+60*60*24*365);
}
}
else
{
setcookie('langCookie','de',time()+60*60*24*365);
}
}
checkLangCookie();
setLanguage();

?>

I'm sure this part is the problem - would anyone be able to help?

When I've put the link URL in at the bottom of page http://www.bathresidents.org.uk/meetingsInfo.php , the first couple of records work fine but the most recent ones show 'record not found' - see http://www.bathresidents.org.uk/meetingsInfo.php?11

Hi Jason. Just to clarify in my mind before I make a hash of it -

I've had a look at the signup form. The way i see it would be to modify the form so that when the user checks checkboxes (I've added 3 checkbox fields in the User Accounts section editor), this would add their choice(s) to their user account and trigger an email, called e.g. /emails/publication-email.php This email would be sent to the rep, and take its content using $CURRENT_USER tags.

My main question at this stage is which bits of the header PHP to use or delete, or whether to leave it all alone.

e.g. // check for duplicate usernames and emails
// add user
// generate password
// create accesslist entry

As they seem to be extraneous to the job the form should be doing - which is adding 3 bits of info to their User Account, and sending this and their contact details to an email address - should I remove these sections entirely?
