Attempting to upload a zip file and getting the welcome screen

I'm trying to upload zip files but we get sent to the welcome screen. This is a recent issue, we've been using this for a while. The upload file size was changed to a lower value, changed it back but still having this issue. See uploaded file for reference.

Send email when new item is created

Hello,

With our old Article Manager system we could set up an email to be sent to the admins when a new article was created or existing changed. I'd like to do the same in CMS Builder. I can create the format but I don't know how to set up the trigger. Is this possible?

I have a form with a list I want to generate from table contents. It's easy if I just want to statically select a single table. However; I have 6 tables I'd like to select from dynamically. I have another list that has these tables listed. I'd like to select from the DB for the second list dynamically based on the selection in the first list. Is this possible?

rootmail user created on install

There's a user "rootmail" that seems to be created that has control over access privileges when install on a Linux system. I'm unable to override this user's access and update permissions. Can someone help with this issue?

Hi Jerry,

It's a relatively small site and only a few users would have access to edit their own content. I'm testing the use of a another content field that stores the live content while the other content field is used for pending content. I'm just trying to figure out how to process the change when the content is made visible.

Is there a way to implement a workflow? I'd like to have content owners edit their own content but there needs to be a review process. Setting content back to Pending status would remove it from view. Is there a way updated content could reviewed but the original content stays in public view? If not, is there an easy way to migrate content from a test environment to production?

Thanks for the information. I had IT changed the setting and I seem to be getting past that error only to get a new error.

Alternate PHP Version

The server I'm working on has an outdated version of PHP. This server is shared by multiple users so the version cannot be updated without impact to other users. There is another version installed but is not set as the default version used by the web server. Has anyone accessed an alternate PHP version from within the php.ini configuration?

Restricting writer access after publish

Is it possible to restrict a writer from editing or deleting a record only if that record has been published? I can see that it's possible to restrict editing, but there doesn't seem to be an option to select flags for that restriction.

Hi Mike,
We have the software running on our intranet so I'm unable to supply you with FTP information. The problem is related to the GD Perl module. If I disable the module, I'm able to upload GIF images, but loose the image scaling. The application detects v2.34, is there a possible incompatability with this version?

Access to article list

I'm getting some feedback from users regarding saving and modifying articles. I have our contributors set up with 'Writer' access so they can only submit articles as 'Pending', however this is an issue because they can't view a list of articles or change the article. Is it possible to restrict 'Trusted Writers' to only allow them to submit as 'Pending'?

Is there any discussion for future releases making it possible for 'Writers' to save an article they are working on and not submit the article. This seems to be a huge oversight. A user should be able to save as they go or revisit an article if they realize they made an error.

If I'm missing a set up option somewhere, please let me know. [:/]

I think I've found the solution. I converted my templates from an old version of Article Manager. The old template didn't have the same funcionality as the new version. I'll have to rebuild my templates from the new version.

When uploading images I selected 'link to URL' but when I publish the page it image isn't linked. The 'use thumbnail image' check nothing does nothing as well. Please advise.

Remote Perl location

I'm considering upgrading to Article Manager 2 but it requires Perl 5.8. We currently have 5.6 installed, but because of the inpact on other users it can not be changed at this time. There is Perl 5.8 on a remote server that could be accessed from each CGI script, but the code mentions license infringement if the code is modified. Is changing the Perl location consider 'code modification'? Would doing this violate the license aggreement?
