Hi Ross,

Thanks for the reply. I can certainly look at this for the v3.06 installation but I have a lot of sites running on v2 who aren't able to go any further because of the PHP requirements and so it would mean moving server.

Is there any fix or workaround that we can use for existing sites without changing to v3.07?

Regards, Paul.

I've noticed in a number of CMSB installations that the Flash uploader doesn't work properly. I'm using Firefox and customers have also reported this issue.

The 'Add or Upload File(s)' link is there and clicking this brings up the browse window but on selecting a file, the browse window is closed and nothing else happens. Switching to use IE works so it's something peculiar to Firefox but as I've mentioned, also affects other users.

I've checked and have the latest Firefox/Flash combination. I've just tried this out in CMSB v2.63 and v3.06 and get the same issue.

Do you have any ideas how we might be able to resolve this?

Thanks, Paul.

I'm using CMSB v2.14 and WSM v1.06.

I'd like to use an alternative accounts table and so have changed the parameter in the plugin to do this. To create the new accounts table (called users), I replicated the structure of the accounts table without the access list.

The problem I have is that creating users via the new users table in the CMS doesn't encrypt the passwords, even though this setting is turned on. When a user tries to logon, the logon fails, presumably because the password has been stored as plain text but the password entered at login has been encrypted.

To get around this, I've had to turn the encryption off and reset the passwords for all CMS users (the original accounts table). This now works but all passwords are stored in plain text.

Is there a way I can use encrypted passwords and an alternative accounts table?

Thanks, Paul.

Is there a reason for this?

I understand what you say about re-coding to not use session variables but I think the issue centres more around the _user_eraseLoginSession() code removing more than just the login session. I often inherit code from existing sites and re-coding isn't likely to be practical.

Thanks, Paul.

Admin only fields

Hi,

I think it would be a good feature to be able to have fields only visible to Admin users. I know there is a setting for Admin only at the moment, but this allows field to be viewed and updated by Admin's AND editors. On some of the systems I've installed, it would be useful to have fields that aren't available to anyone except and Administrator (i.e. me), such as configuration options for the site that are stored in CMSB.

Could this be feasible in the future?

Thanks, Paul.

Hi Chris,

The new software is great, I've been hoping for a preview function for a while so good to see that in there and the datepicker is a really nice feature.

Regarding the preview function, I've noticed that uploads are not part of the preview system, in that if you remove or change one, this is effective on the live site. This is not altogether surprising owing to the way uploads work but is this something you've considered? I just wonder what customers might think if they change an upload, say an image, preview it but change their mind only to find it's too late.

Thanks, Paul.
