Saving Issues

Hello,

We are experiencing some issues that all seem to be related to saving.
When trying to save a record in CMS we receive a 500 error:

This page isn’t working

www.myurl.comis currently unable to handle this request.

HTTP ERROR 500

If you go back to the previous page and refresh, the changes are in fact saved.

We are also experiencing an error with the Create PDF 1.07 functionality.
After clicking the "Create PDF" button we are shown this error:

Exit with code 1 due to network error: ContentOperationNotPermittedError
Error executing wkhtmltopdf! (Exit code: 1)

When we click the "Test server requirements" link inside of the Create PDF plugin, all tests pass.

However, when we click the "link" at the end of "Visually review PDF output" we are greeted again with the same 500 error.

Can anyone provide any insights as to why we may be receiving this error and how to fix it?

Related Records Field type

Hello!

We currently use the "related records" field type in CMS to display a users listings right in their their user account section, which is great!

We use this coding in the MySql where clause createdByUserNum=''

However, we have 46 different tables that this info is being pulled from which means we have 46 different fields. And usually a user only has listings in 1 or 2 of the tables, with the rest being blank. Is there a way to only display the related records field if there is information in it?

Say we have 26 related records fields, pulling information from tables named a, b, c, .....z.
User Joe has listings in tables a and b. But in his account all 26 fields show up, but only fields a and b have listings in there, leaving 24 empty fields that take up space.
Can we just display the fields that Joe has listings in, in this example, a and b.

Editinng Multiple Photos At Once

This post is in regards to being able to edit / modify photos in a quicker capacity. Meaning, when on an existing or copied account / record being able to click "Edit All Images" would allow the ability to edit photo captions and titles all at once. The current process only allows you to edit one photo at a time . This is very time consuming when you are talking about 100's of photos a day. Any have ideas or some coding they can share? Thanks !

The "client" is an end-user so we have not had him enter any email addresses or try different browsers.

When I enter his email address in my browser I get the same error as he describes. I entered 2 of my different email addresses in and it goes through fine on both.

I have tested his and my email in Safari and Firefox. And still get the error on his.

I do not think it is an overall server email thing because our server is sending out email fine from the front-end of our site. And CMS is sending out emails fine for my email addresses when I tested out the email lookup thing both before and after I tried his email address.

Lost Password Error

We are getting an odd error with our "Forgot Password" link.

A user alerted us of an issue he had. When he entered his email address it came up with the "Email sent" page, but the error below appeared up on the top of the page in a yellow box:
"Mail Error: mail(): SMTP server response: 550 Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable or not local"

I tried the link with 2 different email accounts of mine, one being a yahoo account which was the same as the users, both worked fine and I recieved the emails. I am positive that his is a working email because he emailed us from it and he is receiving leads from our system (from a mail.php that is outside of CMS). He is currently an active user in our system as well.

The only thing that I saw that was different from "normal" was an underscore in his email address. Such as "first_last@yahoo.com". I have seen this more often lately but I don't know if this could be the issue or have anything to do with it, but wanted to give you as much info as possible.

Do you know of anything that would cause this to work for some emails but not others? And if so, how do we fix it?

Hello,

We are having an issue with our sign up form. I found this post: http://www.interactivetools.com/iforum/gforum.cgi?post=79185; which seems like a similar problem as ours but still could not resolve the issue using the methods they provided. I know it is something simple that we must be missing.

We have a sign up form (sign_up.php, outisde of CMS) for users to setup their account. We have recently added a new checkbox field in CMS called 'rit_seal'. It is an admin only field, default state is unchecked, unchecked value = No, checked value = Yes. Now when a user tries to sign up, it returns the error below:

MySQL Error Creating Record:
Field 'rit_seal' doesn't have a default value

I tried to add a hidden field in the form, since we do not want users to be able to check or uncheck this box but the value could still be sent to CMS but I still get the same error. I know we have had issues in the past with checkbox values begin "1" or "0" despite the value specified in CMS so I also tried also to no avail.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

We do this on all categories which are all set up as separate tables but costumes is the example we used earlier.

The table name is costume_rentals.

If someone searched for costumes in Kentucky, for example, the url would be http://www.rentittoday.com/viewers/costume_rentals_results.php?state_match=KY

Yes, I originally thought that the labels would allow us to display them as simple as $record['state:label'] but am realizing that that is not the case :)

Hello!

Through second level support we were able to achieve the results we needed for the breadcrumbs. :) Now we want to use the same functionality to display the state label on a results page.

At the top of our results we have a line the says "Search Results for ". We then use @$_REQUEST to pull the subcategory_match, state_match, and cities_serviced_keyword fields that a user filled out in the search form.

The code that successfully displays the state labels for us on a detail page is as follows:

         $record = $air_plane_charter_jetsRecords[0];
         foreach($record['state:labels'] as $state){
            echo $state . " ";
         }
      ?>

This coding works when a user clicks a breadcrumb from a details page back to the search results page but does not work when a user lands on a search results page. I know why it does not but am unable to change the code so it will. I believe that we need to use the @_REQUEST but do not know how to integrate that into the code that will allow the state_match:labels to display.

We added the labels into our CMS. But we are getting an undefined index error for the "label":

I hope you are well. I have a question in regards to a bread crumb issue. In the orginal setup of CMS all of our states were abbreviated in a drop down box. Example CA was for California. On the front end of website pages we display the State Spelled out completely. If you click on the link below you will notice the state is abbreviated. Is there an easy way I can convert it to a spelled out state????? This would help a bunch for SEO .

These different URL versions are popping up in our Google analytics. We are careful to setup links to our site from out on the web in the way we want them to appear. So we are not really sure how the robots and crawlers are coming across them.

Across the site now we use the ['_link'] to create the links from our results to details pages. We have changed parts of the Viewer URL section to create the links with the ['name'] field "/" ['num']. They create the link how we want them to be and we use a mod rewrite to change in the path info, as to have "medical-equipment-rentals" instead of "viewers/medical_equipment_rentals.php"
We do know how to create the "custom links" (we found info on another of the forum posts). Which I believe is similar to the code you provided. But I guess as I think about it more, the only way to "prohibit" any of the other urls from being used would be to redirect all pages that were of the "unwanted urls" to the "desired urls". Although I do not know if this is really possible.

Basically, if someone went to:

It would know to send them to:

Right now there are multiple urls that point to each listing on our site for example:

http://www.rentittoday.com/medical-equipment-rentals/item_number=2421
http://www.rentittoday.com/medical-equipment-rentals/2421 http://www.rentittoday.com/medical-equipment-rentals/num-2421
Basically, anything that has "medical-equipment-rentals" and the item number in it, will take you to that page. We are wanting to "contain" this, if you will, by limiting the number of urls that will bring a user to a certain listing. We would really like only the first url listed above, that uses the listings name and number, to actually go that particular lisiting. Is there a way to accomplish this in CMS? Or is this more of a modRewrite issue?

Keyword Search

Well first of all, Happy New Year to all of you!

We are trying to implement a keyword search, again. But we have some questions/concerns.

In the past we implemented a keyword search using the multi-search function. This gave us some limited usability with not being able to display the photos associated with the listings (since we have ~43 different tables of categories)
Now we have created a search form that our users would have to select a category from the drop down, then enter the search terms. We set it up so the dropdown acts as a "jump Menu". This will allow us to show the results on our results viewer pages that are already setup. This also gives us the ability to display photos, etc for the listings. It also prevents us from having to create another results page.
I know that we have to ability to use
" ../viewers/costume_rentals_results.php?name,short_description,city_keyword=sampleCity to have the sampleCity be searched as a keyword.

For example:

http://cloud.rentittoday.com/viewers/costume_rentals_results.php

I learned through trial and error that adding an "&" between search terms works with multiple keywords. So, we have a working "jumpmenu" that will direct users to the correct viewer page based onteh category that they select, as well knowing the proper coding that will provide the results we want. But we are stuck trying to get it all to tie together.

How do we code the search box in order to get it to go the correct page, while adding the keywords that the user enters, separated by "&"s?

The coding for the search form is not complete when it comes to the values of the dropdown, but Costume Rentals works.

We are spending/wasting a lot of time when we edit photos in CMS.
We use the "save as copy" function to copy large amount of listings at once but when it comes to changing/editing the photos a lot of time is spent in the process: clicking "modify", waiting for image to load, changing image and captions, clicking save, waiting for the image to save, then going to the next one. Is there a way we are able to have a "modify all" button that would open all photos at once and allow you to edit info and modify the upload and save all at once?

Rewriting URLs for Results Pages

We came across this post about creating custom links for the details pages of our listings. And the solution works wonderfully. We are very excited.

But now we want to take it a step further and have similar urls for our search results pages. Would this method of "custom links" be the same for the results page url, as it would be for the details?

For example, our details pages will now have a url similar to this.

With the details page name (which we will rewrite in our .htaccess to simply costume-rentals), subcategory, state, city, name of listing, item num.

We would like our results page to say something like
http://www.rentittoday.com/viewers/costume_rentals_results.php/subcategory/state/city
The chunks of url would change depending on what search form elements they utilized. So if they only filled out subcategory, only the subcategory would display in the url, not the state and city. We are using a function already to eliminate unused search form fields from the url.

I have read your online documentation about the SEO Urls and how it would say "/size-xl/color-blue". But is it possible to have it even cleaner and just say "xl/blue"?
Also another one of my concerns is that we use the "cities_serviced_keyword" in our cities serviced field, which enables our users to enter all the cities that they service and we do not want this to change. So would this new structure be able to keep that functionality? And if so how do begin to go about it?

So it has been months and this functionality was seems to have be forgotten. But now it has been found and we are working on it again!

The code works wonderfully, thank you again!
But we have 1 minor issue that we would like to change.
The coding as it is now, adds an "&" after each searched term. I understand the need for this , and why it is setup the way it is but, we would like to only display the "&" ONLY if it is necessary.

First, here is our js code:

If someone utilizes all of the search form elements while searching the end of the url is great :".../motorcycle_results.php?category=Dual%20Sport%20Bikes&subcategory=Big%20Dog&cities_serviced=Townsend&state=CO"

But if someone searches using just the category drop down (2nd search form element) it leaves an unnecessary "&" at the end:
/motorcycle_results.php?category=Dual%20Sport%20Bikes&

I removed the "&" from the 4th element (state_match) since that is the last thing a user could choose and will never need one. But the various ways that people could possibly search, and the fact that none of the search options are required has confused us.

Is there a way to go about adding the "&" only if it is necessary, (ie. because another form element has been selected after it)?

help with a new details page

Hello guys,

We are redesigning our details pages and are having some trouble with the coding of some new features.

1. We want to add a section on a details page of Other Rental Listings that a user owns. For example, you a viewing a property that Bob has listed on our site (property #1). We want to display in a box, property #2, #3 and #4 (pic and name of property)that Bob owns.

This code pulls 1 of Bob's properties:

Can we just add another chunk of code on the same page to pull other listings or will we need to make this an include file?

Finally, the last issue we were having with this was begin able to write the correct code for the WHERE statement. I assume we will have to define a variable $user=$record['createdByUserNum'];
and use this where statement in the code above

But I was getting undefined index errors when I used "record" and/or "commercial_rental_propertyRecord" when trying to define the variable. I can get the createdByUserNum to display on the page just fine, but trying to pull it into a variable was not working.

2. Similar to the above feature, but a little different.
We want to display related rental listings from all users. So for Bob's Commerical Rental Property we want to display, in a separate box, electronic rentals, office furniture, etc that have a cities_serviced_keyword that matches the city that Bob's property is in. I again believe that this will be a where statement for each of the categories that we choose to display for this section. Such as
where => ' cities_serviced LIKE city',
(Our cities_services field is a text box that lists any cities a company services. Each city is separated by a comma. ) I not too familiar with the LIKE function and not sure if that is the correct/best way to do it.

turning off hourly back-up

Hello guys!

As you all know, we have a very large database and are having some issues with speed. And if the backups are happening every hour, what are the chances that the backups are not finished within that hour and are screwing the whole process up?

One of the solutions we would like to try it to cut down on our hourly backups. I have read the other posts about the auto back up but I want to know if it is possible to "turn off" the hourly backups but keep the daily, weekly and monthly.

I know that the backup runs when a viewer page or admin is hit. And we cannot control when users come to our page. But are we able to setup the backups to take place during non-peak hours, for example 3 am?

Errors when saving listings

Hello!

We have changed our categories to multi-categories.
Since then we have been getting a lot of weird issues and errors when we try to save our listings.

When we use the "Save as Copy" function to copy a whole set of a specific user's listings. We are getting this error:

Yes we are definitely excited about the multi-record switch. We love the new functionality except for this issue with the accounts. :)

That box is already checked. I unchecked, rechecked and saved but no difference. :/

Any other ways that would allow us to block this category from anyone but an admin?

I know that we can change it manually in the CMS admin panels.
We are able to do that right now and do so when one of our employees sign a new client up.
But the issue is when people find our site, through a search etc, pay to use our service, and are directed to the sign-up page on their own. The form on that page then adds them as a user. And they have access to the user accounts info.
We are alerted by email when someone signs up, and then we go and set their permissions. But we cannot have someone "on-call, 24-7" to watch for emails and setup the permissions manually, as soon as they sign up.

We use this code in our sign-up form to set their access levels right now. And it seems to work fine for all tables, EXCEPT for the accounts table.

I added this line in the appropriate place to try to single out the accounts table to ensure that users have no access to it, but it did not work.

So,I guess it would work if No One ever have access to the accounts table other than admin users. I know that we can remove it from the menu bar but someone could still get to it by entering it in the url. And we would still like to keep it on the menu bar for admin users. I also don't understand why the accounts table is different from all the other tables. Can you explain this as well?

Hey Guys,

We have successfully switched our categories to multi-category and use the membership plugin which gave us our coveted security features, such as author, editor, etc.

We have setup the code in our sign up form to allow new users an author status to all sections by default. For now, we go into CMS and setup the appropriate authorization status "by section" once they have signed up.

This system works fine except for when it comes to the accounts section.

When a new user signs up, they can go and add a listing to any category but they cannot see any of the other listings from other users. Which is my understanding of how the author status works. However, they can view ALL of the other users in the accounts section. They cannot edit or delete, thankfully, but we still, for privacy reasons, cannot have this. The accounts table is the only table we have this issue with.

I tried editing our sign up form code, giving the accounts table an access level of "0" which I believe is no access but it still does not work. How can we prevent users from seeing the users table?

Oh, I forgot, once we change the access level to "by section" manually in CMS, this is no longer an issue because there in not an option to give access to the account table. And the new user can no longer see the account table on the menu bar. Which further adds to my confusion of why they would be able to see it when they first sign up. [:/]

We use currently Google Analytics but want to be able to pull it into our system and display it for our customers.

The date requirements were also what I was concerned with.
