Hello again,

I have just had another CMS Builder memory usage warning from my hosting company on my own website not my client's site this time. Details below.

This has come about after installing "Instant Website" and just using CMS Builder as any user would. Making admin changes and text changes in the web pages. No image uploads but quite a few page refreshes to see changes.

My question really is now. Do I need to find another host that allows more memory? Does US hosting offer more on shared hosting?

Cheers - Rod

============================================================================

Dear Client,

This is a courtesy notice from Hostingbay.com.au regarding your account [fasttrackwebsites.com.au].

HostingBay is receiving below notifications in reference to the following PHP script. Please see the report below:

=================================================================
"Sep 29 06:44:35 pantheon suhosin[2952]: ALERT - script tried to increase memory_limit to

134217728 bytes which is above the allowed value (attacker '58.166.85.98', file '/home/fasttrac/public_html/cmsAdmin/lib/init.php', line 104)

=================================================================

We proactively have optimized your script by changing its memory limit to 32MB, because it is using the server memory greater than it is allowed.

A new line block has been added to your script, ini_set('memory_limit', '32M'); and a php.ini script file has been created under your public_html folder.

Our current configuration allows scripts to allocate maximum 32 MB of memory.

Please see High Resource Usage Policy and Hostingbay Service Agreement at:

The concept of "Instant Website" is fantastic and opens up a whole new ball game for building company websites. I am in the process of clenching a major company contract to build websites for their subsidiaries over the entire country.

I was intending to build my own templates but now along comes "Instant Website" add on.

I detest the exclamation "WOW" but I have to use it now. "Wow", what an extremely effective and professional way to build a website for those who have little or no web skills but require a professional well constructed website. You have done it with this project.

But there is a problem that you may like to consider. For my prospective clients a major concern would be the design colour (styles) aesthetics.

In <Layout & Design<>Website style> the 5 style options are not usable for most company or business websites. For this reason alone I cannot use Instant Website template just yet.

But if you had several plain colour options ranging from Black down through the greys and up through the main colours you then have a truly professional product that will be ideal for hundreds of instant websites for small business. Your present choice of styles is a little design unfriendly.

If you can see your way clear to add plain style colours or the ability to make colour changes I can see you selling a lot more CMS Builder scripts.

Regards - Rod

Hello folks,

I have just finished setting up CMS Builder 2.4 on my client’s website. Working brilliantly! I bought and installed Auto Backup, which has to be a mandatory plugin. This too works perfectly, emailing weekly backups to my client's nominated email address.

Problem:

I want my client/s to be able to restore a backup if needed but without entering the <Admin<>General Settings> and scrolling down the settings page to make a restore. Admin area out of bounds, as too much can go wrong if a setting is altered, even inadvertently.

Possible Solution:

Why not make it that a backup can be restored from a separate page, where only the details of the backing up and restoring process is shown?

Provide the ability to check a box "auto backup" for any nominated User account, giving this account the ability to restore backups.

I think this is very important to prevent Admin indiscretions and consequently the CMS failing or even making changes to the Program name or advanced settings.

Would this be difficult to implement into CMS Builder?

Rod

Hello everyone,

Last Thursday I bought CMS Builder (Demo) but I cannot get cmsAdmin/admin.php to run. The website is found and after a couple of minutes a blank page appears. Permissions are set correctly triple checked.

Anyone have any ideas to why this would happen? My host has everything installed.

Thanks - Rod

(I have submitted a free support ticket but not heard anything yet)
[/#0000ff][/#0000ff]

Hi Studio-a,

You provide very good feedback and encouragement. I do own a copy of CMS Builder 1.27 for a private project and Dave did some customization for me.

But events have changed with so many of my clients wanting specific website features. In the past I have used umpteen scripts to make their websites just right, an awful lot of work for the return. But I do see now, after reading many posts, how CMS Builder will make my client's websites so much easier to build.

I am working literally 16 hours a day to revamp my business and to head in a different direction. All is going well.

And yes the support here is second to none. I belong to many forums and the only one other that offers the same level of support as here is where I buy most of my scripts.

Cheers - Rod

Okay, thanks Dave, I had better get cracking!

I just have to make a few more tests in creating templates, without too much css knowledge or designer skills, which I think I have accomplished. If this system works I will open a new thread in case others are interested.

Rod

Have the features suggested by studio-a been implemented or in part? I am working on a contract to build multiple websites for a nation wide company and wish to use CMS Builder, but the Admin panel has to be well out of harms way of users.

Rod
