Importing Excel Data to CMSB

Has anyone managed to import the data from an Excel spreadsheet into a CMSB database. Or from any other external data source?
I have a rather large membership spreadsheet that I'd like to be able to display on a CMSB web page.
Individual copy and paste is not a happy thought.
I was thinking of using a multirecord editor and implementing the "hidden" field to temporarily hide the information for members who were not in good standing.
Thanks
Jerry

I have exported to Excel format but not imported yet. I was looking at Navicat to import to CMSB. You might give it a try. I think you can get a free 30 day fully functional trial version.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you are successful.

Hi Jerry,
I'd suggest taking a look at this forum post by Dave, which outlines what's involved in this process:

Hi Jerry,
Yea, the two options you'd be looking at would be using some external tool to get the data into MySQL, or have a custom program built to import the data.
Also, if possible it's much easier to have excel export a CSV file and then import that, because then the import program doesn't need to know how to read (any one of the multiple versions of) excel.
Hope that helps!
