WYSIWYG image resizing and dimensions

Quick question: We need the image uploads from within the WYSIWYG data field to conform to the same image size and dimension maximums specified in the "upload settings" box of the exclusive "upload" field. Is this possible? If not, would it be possible to allow the person updating the site, while in the WYSIWYG data field, to select images that have been added from the exclusive "upload" field (which have already been conformed to the specified image size and dimension maximums)?

I do know that you can change dimensions from the WYSIWYG image dialog box. However, we need to make sure the images don't get larger in file size or in dimensions than our pre-defined limits.

Thanks so much for the input!

Re: [Jake] WYSIWYG image resizing and dimensions

Jake,

Thanks for your response! Yeah, I kind of figured as much. I'll try to instruct clients in this way for now. At the very lease, in the future, it would be really cool if a feature could be added to the WYSIWYG image adding dialog box that would allow you to select from images uploaded using the CMS upload field. But, since that probably would require editing to "tinymce" itself, I could see how that may not be a viable option. One can always dream, though. :-)

Thanks again! Sure do love this CMS!

Images that are inserted by the wysiwyg do not have height and width attributes. is it possible to set it up so that it does have these?

Hi,

You can right click on an image in the wysiwyg editor and select "Insert/Edit Image". You then click on the "Appearance" tab. There you can set height and width.

Hope this helps.
