GD or GD2?

Hi there,
We have to get our host to install the GD extension for PHP on our webserver but we need to know whether to use GD or GD2...any help would be appreciated,

Hi j,
I'm pretty sure they both register the same functions. I'm running gd2 locally and that is the most recent so I'm going to recommend gd2.
Let me know if you run into any other problems with that.
