Following on from the newsletter, talking about Wamp Server, I figured I'd give it a go.
I came at this as a complete novice, but it was pretty straight forward.
There were a couple of problems, but I found the answers in the forum (once I figured out how their forums worked).
I am now using it to test out my CMS site, without the need to keep uploading.
For those who didn't read about it, it's a great server, and it's free. it comes with the latest versions of Apache, PHP and SQL, it also includes PHPAdmin.

Hi Joe
Thanks for the review. WAMP definitely is a great tool. Really cuts down on test time as you don't have to worry about FTP connections or anything like that.
If anyone else has feedback on using WAMP, feel free to post it here :).

While I am not a Windows fan and have not used WAMP, I have been using MAMP (Mac) & LAMP (Linux) for a number of years. Both are excellent implementations and definitely simplify not only development but installation on a production server.
Great way to test your work prior to ftping to production!
