Hi Guys,

I have used CMSB a few times now - love it.

Is the products section now able to have categories and sub categories? I understand that it can, but it's advanced programming?

Also, I need to have a shopping cart and order form which sends data to a secure payment gateway - not paypal. Is this easily achievable?

Can interactive tools or forum members estimate pricing on doign this for me?

Hi Tim,

You can now create "category sections" but I'm not sure if that will work exactly how you want it to. Do you have an example url for how you want to layout your products?

And for the shopping cart you'll need to plug into an external shopping cart program or system.

Hope that helps!

Hi Dave,

I need to display a range of beer / wine and mechandise... so categories could be as simple as;

> Beer
> Red Wine
> White Wine

but I would love to be able to grow this (and have the client add categories) to;

> Beer
- Ales
- Lagers
> Wine
- Red
- White
- Dessert
- Specialty
> Merchandise
- Tshirts
- Bar Equipment

I don't need a separate page for each item, simply a list of items down the page with an image / description / price etc is fine.

I'm confident that I can lay out the site, with the products displaying in the order I want, have the basic level categories and with an "Add to Cart" button...

However, I do not have the expertise to code the actual collection "added" items, total the amount from multiple categories, collect the customer details and send it to the payment gateway....

Any help would be appreciated! I'm happy to pay for private consulting / coding if required.

Cheers,
Tim

Hi Tim

Thanks for clearing that up :).

The categories are definitely going to take some coding to get going, so I am thinking of something a little different for you.

The first thing though is, will you be adding to them main categories? Or would you just be adding sub categories.

If you were going to stick with the same main categories, there will be a way to keep the sub categories of each section up to date through the program itself.

Let me know and I'll go into more detail for you :).

Hi Ross,

Thanks for the reply.

The categories is a "nice to have", I'm able to work things out to a few levels such as I have with http://www.fabmosphere.com

My main concern is the shopping cart. Do you guys have any experience in adding a shopping cart function to CMSB? Is it possible to get an estimate to do so? Have you got any examples?

Cheers

Hi there.

A shopping cart isn't really something the software is setup for and we like to focus our support on things the software can actually do. Basically that means I haven't really worked with shopping carts.

We could maybe take a look at it through our consulting services if you like. Just send us an email through consulting@interactivetools.com and we'll get the ball rolling from there.
