Multi-level site design

I am looking for design help for a site I am building with CMSB. The content is muli-level and hierarchical. The top level consists of sections. Each section can map to a subsection. Sections and subsections can map to one or more publications, each of which can have one or more chapters consisting of text. Is the category section type the one to use? Also, I can't find any regular documentation for the category functions, except through referenced in this forum.

Hi there.

Thanks for posting!

The category documentation is all in the forums so it sounds like you've already found the right thread.

With the setup of your site, the best thing is going to be with getting a working template. With a working template, you'll be able to see how everything fits together. So work on that first and then we can start going over it all together from there.

How does that sound? Keep me up to date with how you are making out :).

Hi there.

Glad to hear you got that figured out :).

I am curious about your question at the bottom though. I created a category section and gave a test user access to it (through the by section option) and it shows up just fine. Could you give me a bit more detail so I can try to re-produce the problem?

Thanks!

I set up a user with no Admin access, but provide him with "Manager" access to all sections. He can see the section based on categories. When I change the access type to "By Section", the category-based section is missing from the list.

Hi there.

I am still having some trouble re-creating the problem. The fact that you mentioned you are giving people Manager access though does mean you are using an older version so it might be something we have already fixed in a later version.

Would you mind sending me some FTP details and a link to this forum thread in an email to consulting@interactivetools.com

I'll take a closer look at everything for you :).

Thanks!
