Categories in Backend

I have a category section set up with categories and sub-categories but when I included the category list using (advanced: get options from database) in a multi viewer section, the sub categories appear as if they are just another category (see #2). I will also have some sub-categories with the same name but under a different parent category so I don't know how that would be able to work and users will know they are selecting a sub-category unless I can get them to display like (ex. #3) .

1.Example:Categories/subcategories

Adoption
Education
-Private
-Public
Preschool
-Health
Infants
-Health

2. So in the backend list in the multi section they appear like so:
Adoption
Education
Private
Public
Preschool
Preschool
Health
Infants

3. I would like for them to appear like this so the user knows it is a sub-category:
Adoption
Education
Education: Private
Education: Public
Preschool
Preschool: Health
Infants
Infants: Health

Is there any way to make this happen in the backend list?

Thanks!
April

Hi there.

Thanks for posting!

Can you double check that your Categories section is actually setup as type: Category Menu. If you already have that setup, go to the field in your other section that you have setup to grab values from the category section in.

For the Label, tell it to use breadcrumb. That will give you the

parent 1
parent 1: child 1
parent 1: child 2
parent 2
parent 2: child 1
parent 2: child 2

in your drop down. Does that make sense? Have a look and let me know ;).
