Re: [laurie34117] menu creation

Hi laurie34117,

Since everyone's website navigation is so different (and you can create extra viewers for sections,) CMS Builder doesn't generate a navigation menu for you.

Creating one yourself is a simple process of copying your viewer URLs and creating a page (or an include to put on all your pages) with links to each.

I hope this answers your question. Please let us know if you have any other questions or comments.
All the best,
Chris

I don't understand how the client will be able to update the navigation menu without me getting involved. I can see the URLs listed for each page created and know I can copy those to a navigation menu area, but how will a client be able to modify the navigation?

Also, not sure what you mean by "an include".

What sort of changes do you expect your client to want to make to the navigation menu?

Many websites live out their whole lives without changing their navigation menus, while others have only a small part that's dynamic.

If they'll need to have complete control over it, you'll want a new section for it. If you want it to be partially static, but also list records from other sections, that can be set up without needing to maintain a separate section.

Please explain how you want your navigation menu to work, and what kinds of changes your client will be making to it.

P.S. an include is a way of reusing the same content on a lot of different pages.
All the best,
Chris
