Returning field's content inside a table

I would like to put a table with months on the left (jan feb etc.) and three categories of downloads along the top (document, rev1, rev2).
I tried to take the fields I created and insert them inside the table, but I got nothing but php parse errors.
This is the page I am trying to have in a table format:
http://strafford.org/transportation/mrList.php
Not all months will have content.
Can you advise about having CMS records appear inside a table? Is there an example somewhere? thanks in advance,

Hi macwebster,
Can you please post the PHP source code you're getting PHP parse errors for? This is certainly possible, it's probably just a missing question mark somewhere (that's usually the cause of my parse errors.)
