Can you copy pages?

This may be a newbie request, but, as I am creating pages for a customer, I have about 130 that will be similar, but contain different information. I want my customer to be able to edit these pages, and am thinking about putting them into CMSBuilder, but, the enticement of being able to copy and paste and duplicate files with my html editor is starting to win out.

All of that to ask - once you create a page, i.e. with the section editor, is there a way to just copy that page to another one, and then just change the info, instead of creating each one separately?

Thanks.

Hi Furcat,

I think it would definitely be faster with CMS Builder.

One way to do it is to set the "default content" in the field editor so when you add a new record the fields are pre-filled with whatever you want (this works for text fields and text boxes).

Another option is to try this hack/workaround for copying records:

Hope that helps! Let me know if either of those work for you.

I'm not wanting to copy records, I guess what I want to do is make a completely new section editor based upon one I have already made. Each one will have a different menu name, and will be a new website page.

Hi Furcat,

It might be simpler to do this with a multi-record section. You can set it up so certain users can only edit their own pages and it might be a lot less work.

Do you have some sample urls or examples of what you are trying to create?

Yea, I'd create a multi-record section called "Products" with fields for things such as:

Name
Category
Freq. Range
Product Image (upload field)
Data Sheet (upload field)

And then create a record for each product.
