v2.01 problem with list choice not stable

IT,
Just installed CMSB v2.01 and having a glitch with a "list" field for State. Straightforward simple set up. Set it up as field label "state", field name "state", field type "list", display as "pulldown" and options are simply Oregon, California, Washington and saved. screenshot 1. Then when creating/modifying a record, one of the list options is chosen, say "Oregon". But the choice is not retaining. Each time we log back in and modify the record it's reset for "<select>" and does not remember the previous choice. Screenshot 2. Never had this problem in previous versions.
