Can't seem to find the post that I thought I posted with my iPhone so I will repost from home. How could my iPhone betray me so? It is unthinkable!

I am wondering if there is a commenting system that you would recommmend for use with CMS builder? I can't see how you would build one in the CMS alone and I suspect others have wanted to do this for their blogs etc.

Any experience with other commenting systems, use of trackbacks pingbacks and spam protection?

I am told Ross might have some insights?

Re: [cohagan] Commenting system for CMS Blog pages

I've just done a basic comments section here: http://www.fractionfacts.com.au/newsDetails.php?Website-Launch-4

It uses the membership plugin to hide the comments form from non-registered people, and captures details from the current user to display as required.

My file is attached if it helps.

Hi cohagan

Thanks for posting!

I've set comments with CMS Builder a bunch of times. There are actually lots of different options but at the most basic level, what you have is a form on your "article" or "news" page that lets you add content to the database. It can get a little tricky with the coding depending on what you need so we usually do it through consulting.

If you wanted to email me through consulting@interactivetools.com, we can start figuring out what it will take to get your comments going.

Thanks!

One 3rd party option is to let facebook power your comments. Looks just like regular comments but people login with facebook:
