Hi -
What is the 'Save and Copy' button for when you're creating new fields or modifying them?
I'd really like the option to re-use a field in other sections. For example, we have quite a few sections where we'd like to be able to add a location (The UK is split up into 9 standard 'regions', eg South, North-East, etc). I've created a dropdown list with these 9 regions, but would quite like to be able to copy this field into the different sections so I don't have to create it from scratch again. Is this what the 'Save and Copy' function is for?
If not, don't you think being able to store and re-use fields would be a good feature?

Hi Steve,
The save and copy button creates a copy of a field in the same editor so that you can modify the copy.
Say you have a number of upload fields for individual images, instead of having to reset all of the upload variables, you could just rename the copy then save and copy that field again until you have created all the image uploads required.
For the specific "standard regions" case that you mention, could you:
1) create a single record editor and in a list field, enter all the regions as separate options in the list,
Then in any new editors,
1) Create a list field called regions or whatever else works for your application and instead of entering the region names again,
2) Choose the list option "Get options from Database" and populate the new field from your single record editor list.
That should save you a bit of work and will insure that any time you use the regions they will be spelled identically.
Hope that works for you.
Best,
Jerry Kornbluth

OK, thanks for that explanation Jerry. I'll give your suggestion a try - sounds like it should work!
