Menu Groups - specify which menus belong

I added a menu group for a section that I wanted to have sub-menus underneath. Now, I'm adding another menu editor and it put it inside my menu group. I don't want it in the menu group, but I want it as its own menu. I could move it up before the menu group, but then it doesn't match the order on my site.
Can menu groups be anywhere other than the last item on the list? How can I specify which menus I want in the menu group - or where on the list I want it to end?

Hi ekcetera,
You can create another menu group to contain these items between your existing group and the admin group.
I'm afraid there's currently no way to have menu items after a group appear outside of a group. This approach keeps things simple but unfortunately doesn't give you complete flexibility over how menus are laid out.
