will the Auto Backup plugin make a backup of the entire DB that CMSB is connected to, or just the tables used by CMSB.

Just CMS Builder. If you have any other databases or tables, you'll want to back those up independently.

It would be possible on a forthcoming update to compress the files (zip or gz) ?
I think that it would be possible to add a function in the plugin.
But, the main issue is for the function of restoration ?
Thanks, Djulia

The "Backup" facility is built into CMS Builder by default. The "Auto" part of it just runs the backup on a schedule so that you don't have to pop into CMS Builder and do it manually.
Zipping it's a good idea, I'll definitely pass that along. :)

Thanks for your answer. :)
In fact, currently, my files of backup occupy an important disk space, 240 Mo...
A solution would be very useful!
Thanks again

I've just released 1.01 which has hourly backups, backups to email, and gz compression for email backup attachments. See my post:

To save space you could reduce the amount of backups stored on your server but have compressed versions emailed offsite.
For compressed backups: we haven't figured out how to gracefully handle creating and restoring compressed backup files on servers with and without zlib and gzencode(), but we have some ideas for future releases.
Hope that helps!
