Complicated Category Menu Question

We're building a wine site, and the association between wines, producers and regions is causing trouble for us.
Here is the problem:
We have three different section editors: Wines, Producers and Regions.
When creating a wine we want to be able to associate the wine to a producer, and also associate the wine to a region. At the same time, we want to be able to assign a producer to a region.
With this logic in mind, is it possible to display a list of producers by region?
Ex. Producers in Italy
- Producer Name 1
- Producer Name 2, etc..
And then, by clicking on the producer, you are brought to that producer's details page.
Is this possible? Is this clear? Can someone help?
Finally, can one category list link to another category list OR can a category list only link to a multi-list?
Thanks a lot.

Re: [Dan Maitland] Complicated Category Menu Question

Hi Dan,
The answer to the first question is yes. What you would do is have a "region" field in your Producers section. This would be a list field that would link to your Regions section. Then each producer would be associated with a region, which you could then sort by. How exactly would you want to display it? Would the page display all regions with a list of producers under each? Or would it only display one region at a time?
I'm a little unclear on your second question. If you could give me a little more information on what you are trying to do there, I can see what we can figure out.
Let me know.
