Article Manager uses templates to display content on web pages. Can't I create templates to place the viewer code on, which will act as the web page? Also, when saving the content, can't I just rename the file from the database, this way it will not override the previous content?

Hi,
CMS Builder doesn't create templates. However, you can take the code from the code generator and place it into any design or template you want.
I'm not sure I understand your second question. CMS Builder doesn't output a file. You place the code in a file and it displays the content from the database on that page. It won't override any files. If you're worried about exiting pages (like about.php for example) you can do a couple of things. You can put the CMS Builder code into a new file (like about_us.php) and it won't affect the about.php at all. Or you can change the name of your old page (about_old.php) and then replace the it with the CMS builder page.
I hope this helps clarify.
