I have a list of staff members. the first criteria for ordering the list is by Department. But then within each Department the ordering needs to be manual. Is there a way to do this?

Hi zip222,
Dragsorting is an all-or-nothing feature. There are three ways I can think of to do this:
1. Use dragsorting only, and use the Create Record Here plugin to make it easy for users to create new staff members in the right department.
2. Don't use dragsorting at all; instead, create a new field called "manual_order" and enter numbers for each staff member, then you can have the database automatically sort on "department, manual_order".
3. Use separate sections for each department, each of which can have its own dragsorting.
I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any questions, or what you end up deciding upon.
