Strange characters appearing on live web page

Hi, there.
My client's using an older version of CMSB - 1.09 - and when they type two spaces into a WYSIWYG field a strange character - Â - appears on the live page. When I delete one of the spaces everything looks fine.
Is there a way of fixing this? While typing an extra space isn't deliberate, it seems a bit of a pain to keep haing to go back to CMSB and delete it.
Many thanks.

First things first - check the page encoding and make sure it is UTF-8
That's the most common reason for the strange characters

Kenny's got it.
I believe that character is how TinyMCE (the WYSIWYG) encodes non-breaking spaces.

Thank you both - that's cured the problem.
