Cannot log off of CMS

Hello,
We are having an issue with our CMS backend. You can log in but then it will never let you log off. If you try to log off, it just takes you back to the welcome screen in CMS that states to choose an menu and the section editor link, etc.
Do you have any idea of what may cause this or how to fix it?
