The best way to approach using a new script like this is to start off small scale. Create a test section with a couple of record in it and try to implement it on a plain HTML page. Once you get that working, it should be easy to implement it on a larger scale inside a template.

Give it a try and see how it goes. It looks like it could be a good solution.
