I amtrying to import the 50 staes csv available in this zip:
http://www.tellingmachine.com/post/all-50-states-as-xml-json-csv-xls-files.aspx

I create an editor named states and select it with my target file. Everything analyzes fine and looks ok in the preview. (preview is no more than 10 records?)
I dont select any options because i want all the fields created automatically. readme.txt "If you're importing into an empty section, you won't need to set
any options at all."

When I select validate, I get:

No target fields selected! You must select at least one target field!

Thanks for any help.

Oh, in other words the plug in does not create fields based on the column headers in the import file? I thought that was possible automatically.

I have to create an editor with all the fields to import into and then map them you mean?

Yes, you have to map individual columns to fields you created in your section.

Hope this helps

Hi Jason,

How do I import without column headings? It seems to say "Column Headings: Yes" by default and I can't find out how to change this setting.

My CSV doesn't have column headings so I don't want it to ignore the first row.

Thanks,
Greg

Hi Greg,

The current version of the plugin doesn't allow for files without column headers. This is a feature that we are currently working on, but has not yet been released. In the mean time, the best approach would be to add column headers to your file before uploading.

Hope this helps,
