Search results problem

Can anyone help...
I am trying to get a direct link to search results from the following page.
http://www.goatsmilksoap.ca/producthome7.php

If you look at the menu on this page under Products you will see what i want to be able to directly link to:
http://www.goatsmilksoap.ca/feb16e.php
coding is like this...
<a href="producthome7.php?type=massage-oils-and-balms"

I have multiple categories for products that include:
Insect Repellent
Lip Balm
Goats's Milk Soap etc etc




Is it possible to link pages filters to product type directly by html code....

For example i want the all products displayed for insect repellent only...
I tried the html code such as
http:/ www.goatsmilksoap.ca/producthome6.php?type=insect-repellent
but no results come up?

Any ideas

Also does anyone know the the html code you need if your selects has an apostrophe in the name.. ie
type = Goat's Milk Soap
