Bugs in the system?

Hi, All.

I've been experience a few errors with CMSB today and I wonder if there's a solution to them.

1. The cms has a section where the client can link to an upload; for example, a pdf. When that link is no longer needed he tries to delete the file and gets a pop up error message. See error-01.jpg. However, the file does get erased, but the error message is an annoying distraction.

2. In the same section, when the client adds a new pdf link they get a different type of error pop-up. See error-02.jpg.

3. When I try to add a new Menu Group in the Section Editor I initially get the blank message pop up shown in menu-error-01. When I click Okay and then the Create New Menu button again, I get the pop up shown in menu-error-02.jpg. However, when I refresh my browser the menu group has actually been created and is shown on the Section Editors list.

All three of these problems have only started happening today for my client and me. We're in separate locations and using different computers. He's using IE, I have Firefox. The website uses CMSB 2.07, the latest release.

Does anyone know of a solution, please?

Hi Nigel,

I took a quick look at your installation and noticed that when I view the source code, at the very top of your page you have 2 tags:
</li>
</ul>

These seems to appear at the very top of your CMS Builder admin pages as well as PHP pages that connect to CMS Builder. This leads me to think that the issue could be attached to a plugin. Have you recently installed or altered a plugin?

You can narrow this down by de-activating one plugin at a time until you see those tags go away.

If you're having trouble tracking this down, please fill out a 2nd Level Support Request and I'll take a closer look.

Hope this helps.

Hi Nigel,

I tried this plugin out locally. The problem is at the very bottom of the file as there are a couple of blank lines below the bottom ?> tag. Delete those so that the ?> is the last thing on the page. This was outputting blank lines to the top of the page, which was why you were getting that pop up.

Hope this helps.

Re: [Jason] Bugs in the system?

Thanks, Jason. That's cured the problem. I didn't realize it could be something so simple.
