AutoBackup Plugin - Compression Suggestion

Hey,
Just a thought, it would be great if the autobackup plugin could take advantage of server compression, for example compressing the .sql.php files into .gz.
On bigger databases, the outputted backup is reaching 200MB each = a lot of disk space when you're doing dailys/weeklys etc...
Appreciate might not work on all servers, so as optional would be great.
I was thinking it should be quite easy to add the gz compression to the script, but then I think it would break the re-import function as it wouldn't be .sql.php format for bringing back in...
Anyway, that's my two cents :)
