Hi Guys.
I'm using the membership plugin at a few levels on a site. The most basic level is as a subscriber, where they only have their email address... no username / password / fullname etc.
This is to allow quick sign-ups for notifications... no other functions.
Do you think it would be too hard to enable the membership plugin to capture email address OR mobile number? This way I could use the SMS Plugin for notifications.
All the error checking, confirmations etc are currently done via email - so am I getting myself into a nightmare?

Hi Tim,
Sure, you would be able to customize the signup form to take in a mobile number. Since in your case, it might be possible to have a user in the user accounts table without an email address, it would probably be best to store these records in another table (ie, subscribers). You wouldn't really need to use the membership plugin with these records anyway since they can't log in ( no username or password).
Hope this helps.
