Membership addon integration

Hi,

We have a number of existing cms installations and are looking to integrate some of the functionality of the membership addon into one of them. Our main objective is to provide a secure method of allowing clients to retrieve their login details automatically from a web link rather than having to email us for them which can create a delay if they request them over a weekend. How easily can we integrate the membership addon into an existing cms installation and will it allow access to all the existing users login details if requested without having to recreate all the accounts.

We are shortly expecting to perform a cosmetic rewrite of the site in question but will be looking to retain the existing cms facilities, accounts and data so it is important that we can provide this functionality without having to re-create all the existing accounts.

As we already heavily subsidise this particular site we are looking to provide the facility within the budget associated with a Membership addon but need to know it is possible before commiting further.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Yes, you can do this with the website Membership plugin and it will work with existing accounts.

The latest version of the plugin does require you to be using CMS Builder version 2.08 or higher, so you may need to upgrade. All upgrades are by donation (http://www.interactivetools.com/upgrade/).

When you get the plugin, there are example pages for resetting passwords. What happens is the user types in their user name or email address and they receive an email with a link in it to reset their password. They click on the link and are brought to another form where they enter their new password. After this is done, they can login using the new password.

Hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
