Limit access by user in specific record submission

I’m setting up users to have access to only certain company files. When the user is setup in the account record, I choose the company they will have access to from a drop-down list populated from a separate company record listing.
This user now has the ability to add records to another section that also has company names in the drop-down list populated from the separate company record listing.
I need to restrict “Author View” and “Author” users choice in the drop-down to that which was setup in the user file only. Editors need to see and choose from all companies listed.

Hi,
It sounds very similar to this post:

You would just have to change "createdByUserNum" to the name of the field in the section you're pulling the record from that would match the record in CURRENT_USER.
