Parentheses in uploaded image file names

Hello,
I have a request for a future release, assuming I'm not missing an obvious solution.
We regularly use files clients upload via CMSB as background images of elements on their site. Unfortunately, when users upload images that have parentheses in the file name, the code breaks because it end the CSS syntax
For example:
<div class="someclass" style="background-image:url(/admin/uploads/thumb/Sheffield-(10).jpg)">
The ")" at the end of "Sheffield-(10).jpg" causes the background-image declaration to prematurely end, resulting in an invalid background image; aka no background image.
I'd like to request that either by default, or by election in the section editor, that parentheses be automatically removed from upload file names.
When the issues arises now, we just direct clients to be aware of the file names before they upload. Clearly not a critical problem, but something that would be helpful to us.
Thanks for listening.
Dennis.

Hi Dennis,
Thank you for your suggestion. Probably the best solution to this problem would be to use a custom plugin to remove parentheses from file names. That way the plugin can be set up to do this for as many sections and upload fields as you want, while leaving other fields to use the default functionality.
If this is something you're interested in, please email consulting@interactivetools.com and we can go over some options. The plugin itself should be fairly simple and could be on multiple sites.
Hope this helps
