Hello,
I am setting up a new server for cmsBuilder and was wondering which Linux distribution to run with.
Should I install Ubuntu, CentOs, Fedora, Red Hat? I'd be interested to hear which Interactive Tools use.
Thank you,
Greg

Hi Greg,
We actually use a Windows server locally. Your linux distrubitution probably isn't as important as the web server software you'll be running (LAMP, for example). As long as the server has all the minimum requirements for CMS Builder, you should be fine:

Hope this helps

We host with serverbeach.com and run RedHat. We don't always get to choose the servers our clients use so beyond having a linux server (of some kind) my preferences are mostly related to the configuration of the LAMP stack.
A few examples, I prefer when PHP runs as an Apache module instead of in CGI mode. Also nice when you have .htaccess files enabled so you can use those in any web dir, and I prefer it when PHP and FTP run as the same user, instead of running PHP as the nobody user which requires me to chmod files to 0777 if I want them to be writable to PHP.
My advice would probably be to stick to what you know best. What did you end up choosing?

Hi Dave,
All good tips, thanks very much for sharing them.
I actually ran with a Cloud server provided by Rackspace and chose Ubuntu as this seemed pretty popular.
Regards,
Greg
