OS... Ubuntu 10 or FreeBSD 8?

I am helping a client setup hosting for a new site and the provider is offering an OS choice of either Ubuntu 10 or FreeBSD 8. Is there an advantage or disadvantage in choosing one of these over the other?

Just curious, why not use a host that offers a standard Linux offering?
There are lots of cost effective, dependable providers like that around.

There are other factors at play that have led us to this hosting provider.

Hi,
My personal opinion would be for Ubuntu. It probably has a larger community, a larger software base, and is aimed at beginner users.
