gzencode() stream error

Hello,

On a newly provisioned hosting account I did a fresh install of CMSB 2.53 and was unable to see the WYSIWYG.

In the error log I saw the following: PHP Warning: gzencode(): stream error in /FULL/PATH/TO/FILE/ tiny_mce_gzip.php line 236

gzip / zlib is enabled on the server.

I've never had this issue previously with V2.53. I do believe this PHP version differs from other hosting environments with this particular vendor that I've installed this platform on. This PHP version is 5.4.14

Thank you in advance.

Regards,

Steve

gzencode() stream error UPDATE

By Steve99 - July 24, 2013

Apparently I'm experiencing an issue related to PHP 5.4.14 and the 3rd Party TinyMCE resource used in CMSB.

Additional steps taken after initial troubleshooting:

  1. Rolled back the PHP version to 5.3.24
  2. Deleted TinyMCE cache file
  3. Opened new browser session
  4. Accessed CMSB > Opened editor
  5. WYSIWYG appears now

If anyone has insight to share about compatibility issues with TinyMCE and PHP 5.4.14 I'd certainly welcome the information.

Thanks.

Hi,

It sounds as if you've tried all of the things I would suggest to get the WYSIWYG to display. Would you mind filling in a second level support request for me? You can find the form here:

https://www.interactivetools.com/support/email_support_form.php

Then I can take a closer look at what is causing the issue.

Thanks!

gzencode() stream error UPDATE

By Steve99 - July 31, 2013

Hi Greg,

After populating all my tables, I switched the PHP version back up to 5.4.14 and expected the WYSIWYG to not display and see the gzencode() error in the log as it was previously. This did not happen, all is operating fine...

Not sure what the initial cause was though. Perhaps it was a temp issue on the server as far as the gzencode stream error (whether it be its default action or having to do with the forcing gzip script). Either way, this is only on a temp dev server and since it's working now I'm not going to waste your time by submitting a 2nd level request.

Thanks, Greg.
