New Category - Default Order

Hello, All
I asked this question a while ago but cant recall if I received a definite answer. In any case things have moved on since then - so I'm inclined to ask again!
Is there a way for me to fix things so that when I add a new category item it appears at the top of the list?
I appreciate there are issues with parent categories but I really do wish it were possible to fix it somehow. If a new category item were added to the "news" category, for example, why does it always appear at the bottom of the pile and not the top?
The last time I asked this question was before categories could be moved with dragsortorder - so I'm hoping things have moved on!

Hi Perchpole,
If you're working with a Multi Record section, you can change the section's Order By from "dragSortOrder DESC" to "dragSortOrder" in the Section Editor, which will make new records appear at the bottom instead of the top of the list; note that this change will also reverse the order of any existing records!
It's currently not possible to make this change to Category Menu sections without a plugin, but I think we can get away with something really simple, so please try this little plugin out and let me know if it works for you:

Note that this plugin will affect all new records in all Category Menu sections, globally.
Please make sure you back up your data before trying it out!
