Syntax Parse error when accessing site

Hi All,

Wish I could say that I checked this today, but all I can say is the last time that I checked (a few weeks ago) , the CMSB site, http://www.pollick.net was working fine.

What I did today was I installed the PHP application “The Next Generation of Genealogy” Sitebuilding (TNG) in a totally separate directory with a separate database.

When I tried to access the CMSB Site, I encountered the following error (on all pages and the admin page)

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /hsphere/local/home/a887307/pollick.net/cmsAdmin/lib/field_class.php on line 7

which has something to do with:
// member variables
public $name;

I tried changing the name of the tng folder,  re-uploading 2.53 files, and deleting the active plugins in the settings.dat.php file but those didn’t seem to help.

I can't access the admin page or I would try restoring a backup of the database.

Any ideas?
